Frequently Asked Questions

Your questions answered.

What’s your return policy?

With any registered purchase we will provide a year’s warranty and a 30-day money back guarantee for anyone who is not happy with the product.

Do you ship overseas and to P.O. boxes?

Yes, we’ll ship your package anywhere that can accept deliveries however we do have international distributors available close to you. If you have any issues at the checkout process please get in touch.

Is it water-proof?

Yes, flysheet and groundsheet have been tested in excess of 8000mm HH and the windows are welded to prevent leakage. All zips are fully sealed to ensure you are kept dry in even the heaviest of downpours.

Is it reusable?

Yes, if the correct care is taken it can be reused for many years. Please follow the instruction manual or SOGs but especially the inflation and repacking videos to ensure the longevity of your shelter.

Is it legal to erect behind the Barrier of a motorway?

Rigloo Refuge has been engineered and designed to be set up safely in this dangerous environment. It is not recommended to set up a camping tent as they are designed for campsites. It is illegal to stop on a motorway without a genuine reason and government advice is to safely exit the car and position yourself safely over the crash barrier. The Refuge is designed to encourage people to leave the car and this can only be a positive step.

What pressure does it take?

The Refuge airframe has a small hand hammer manual pump. Around 1-2 psi is all that is needed to fully inflate the airframe. Please do not attempt to overinflate as this will distort the single skin TPU frame!

The RESCUER airframe is fully wrapped for protection and fitted with a pressure relief valve max 9psi (PRV) to prevent over inflation. Around 5-7 psi is all that is needed to sufficiently inflate the airframe.

Can you sleep in it?

Yes, but the Refuge model is not designed in length for doing so if you are over 6’0″. The Refuge is an Emergency, Storm Proof Shelter and we recommend that it is used for  this application.

The RESCUER is 2.6m long which is more than enough to sleep in for protracted incidents, rest point sheltering or recuperation.

Can it be punctured?

Anything inflatable can be punctured, we recommend following the set-up guide for the Refuge model and always checking the area you wish to deploy your Rigloo for sharp objects. A repair kit is provided with the shelter.

The RESCUER model is fully wrapped and the lateral bracing beams are raised off the ground to limit the potential puncture points. Each leg base has a protective layer to further reduce the risk of puncture.
